Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons 2012 NFC Divisional will be a true battle of great teams. Atlanta Falcons may have the best record in the NFC but the Seattle Seahawks is a team can be a threat to any team at any time.

Quick Summary: The pick is Seattle Seahawks at BetOnline.

NFL Team Stats and Key Football Players

Seattle Seahawks (11-5), Playoffs (1-0) won the last 5 games in the regular season most of the games were by blowout and they won their NFC wild card game vs Washington Redskins 24-14. This team has been like a machine throughout the 2012 season. They are standing behind their rookie quarterback Russell Wilson and he is leading them to victory game after game. I believe the key players of the Seattle Seahawks offensive and defensive will be the deciding factor in this game.

Seattle Seahawks key offensive players of this game are Russell Wilson, Zach Miller, Doug Baldwin, and Marshawn Lynch. Marshawn Lynch missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday with a foot injury. Who knows if he will play this weekend. I don’t know if the Seahawks can win without him. However, Russell Wilson will have to step up his own rushing yards as well as making sure he connect with Zach Miller and Doug Baldwin down the field. They both average over 12 yards per catch so that should lighten the load on Russell Wilson.

Atlanta Falcons defense are weak against the pass so Russell Wilson will need to get more passing yards than normal. He will also need to avoid receiving as many sacks as he did in the last game. He must be quicker about throwing away the ball and not waiting until he’s on his way down to the ground to throw the ball.

Seattle Seahawks key defensive players are defensive end Chris Clemons who sadly will miss the rest of the 2012 playoffs because of a injury to the torn anterior cruciate ligament on Sunday against the Redskins. The Seahawks really need him this Sunday. Bobby Wagner the rookie middle linebacker who been giving opponents hell all season. He leads the team in tackles. Who knows he just might get defensive rookie of the year.

Then you have Richard Sherman, Brandon Browner, and Earl Thomas have been the driving force of the Settel Seahawks defense. They lead the team in force fumbles and interceptions. If the Seahawks really want to win this game then it will be on the backs of the defense because the Seahawks offense is on fire.

Atlanta Falcons (13-3) has won 3 of the last 5 games in the regular season. The Atlanta Falcons have the best record in the NFL along with Denver Broncos 13-3 record. However, in this game it’s the Falcons that are feeling the heat because the last 3 times the Falcons have reach the playoffs they have lost the first game.

Atlanta Falcons key offensive players of this game are Matt Ryan. He needs to take his time so his receivers can get open and not throw interceptions. The running backs Michael Turner and Jacquizz Rodgers done their job this season against some really great defensive teams. As long as they keep bringing their A-game they will lead this team to a victory Sunday. Tony Gonzalez and Julio Jones lead the team in receiving touchdowns. They know how to get open down field and in the end zone. They will have a serious challenge on their hands with the Seahawks defense.

Atlanta Falcons key defensive players are John Abraham who lead’s in the team in sacks and force fumbles is out with an ankle injury. It’s unclear if he will play this Sunday. Thomas DeCoud, Asante Samuel, and William Moore lead the team in interceptions and will be a serious threat to Russell Wilson passing game.

Seattle Seahawks vs Atlanta Falcons Predictions

I believe the Seattle Seahawks will win this game because Russell Wilson will break down the Atlanta Falcons defense and the Seattle Seahawks defense is going to give the Falcons hell all game long. This game will be tight throughout the whole game but I think the final score will be Seattle Seahawks 28-24.

My Prediction: Seattle Seahawks 28-24

  • Atlanta Falcons: 30
