Anaheim Ducks at Detroit Red Wings in Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan at 7:30pm eastern time. This is the first of two games between these teams this season. Next will be played on Jan. 12th, 2014. The last time these teams played each other was in the 2013 NHL Quarterfinals of the Western Conference, since then the Detroit Red Wings have moved to the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.

NHL Team Stats & Key Players

Anaheim Ducks (23-7-5)

Anaheim Ducks is coming into this game with 5 straight wins and have the second most points in the league behind Chicago Blackhawks. However, Anaheim isn’t going into this game without injuryers. Defensemen Sheldon Souray is out with a torn wrist tendon and Luca Sbisa is out with a torn hand tendon. Forward Jakob Silfverberg is out with a broken right hand and goalie Viktor Fasth is out with a muscle inflammation injury. Even with these injuries I do believe the Ducks will win this game.

Detroit Red Wings (15-11-9)

Detroit Red Wings last 5 games record is 0-3-2 and the last 10 games is 4-4-2. Losing game after game isn’t helping the team get better nor is key players like captain Henrik Zetterberg out with a back injury, goldie Jimmy Howard out with a sprained knee, and Danny Dekeyser out with a shoulder injury. The only good news is Pavel Datsyuk is back after missing 7 straight games because of an concussion.

Anaheim Ducks at Detroit Red Wings Prediction

With an injury list so serious on both sides, I still can’t see the Red Wings winning this game against the Ducks. I think Anaheim will win this game 3-1. I recommend betting 2 units on the moneyline.
